Extra clean etched crystal of heliodor. From Khoroshiv (previous Volodarsk-Volynskii), in north Ukraine. That area has not been occupied by the russian invasion and mining operations have not been stopped.
The area is an old and famous pegmatite district developed in a North-South trending belt 500-1500 meters wide and 22 km long.
Etched crystals are crystals that suffered reabsorption by solutions. During this process the previously flat faces are transformed into a miriad of small very lustrous faces.
