Kerrouchen agate is an exceptional variety of agate from Morocco.
It comes from the town of Kerrouchen and is one of the numerous agate deposits that have been discovered in recent years in the Moroccan Atlas Mountains.
It has a very distinctive and easily recognizable pattern. It is characterized by a structure with few bands but many plumes and brilliant colors in shades of red and yellow.
These agates appear as large nodules, up to half a meter in diameter, but they contain large amounts of quartz, so only a thin external portion can be used for gem cutting.
