Quartz with Hedenbergite inclusions was first discovered in 2015 in the Riau region of Central Sumatra, Indonesia. Its commercialization began with Iwan Suhendar in 2016 from Sukabumi, the Indonesian stone-cutting capital located 100 km south of Jakarta, Java.
This quartz is found in well-formed crystals weighing up to a few kg and containing a phantom with all the inclusions. The included mineral is Hedenbergite.
Hedenbergite is a contact metamorphic mineral, that is, when a mass of magma comes into contact with a rock and modifies its composition.
Within quartz it is normally found in massive crystalline masses, and the presence of well-defined crystals is a rare occurrence. In these quartz crystals, the crystals are concentrated in a phantom, with beautiful terminated crystals aggregated in sprays. The colors of these crystals found in quartz range from green to white to yellow and orange-red. The colors likely depend on varying amounts of diopside or augite.
More rarely, inclusions of other minerals, probably garnet and epidote, have been found.
We have no official analyses or publications on these minerals. Local miners excavated on private land, and so far, production has been limited.
In fact, it has not surfaced again.
