Goyaba is a recent variety of quartz with uniformly colored inclusions ranging from red to orange, yellow and salmon pink, reminiscent of the color of guava pulp. Guava is a common colored fruit in Brazil. Other names have been used for this quartz: Gyoba, Guava, Goyaba or Goiaba, depending on the language used for the fruit.
The gems probably owe their vibrant color to microscopic inclusions of amphibole, hornblende or actinolite needles that fill it completely.
Some roughs have been heated, but most have natural colors.
It comes from Minas Gerais, Brazil.
