Leopard Aquamarine is the commercial name for a type of extremely included beryl made up of tiny ilmenite and hematite crystals. Sometimes there are so many inclusions that it is often called black beryl.
These inclusions have a dendritic appearance, but this is only visible under a microscope.
When ilmenite crystals are iso-oriented, they can produce a beautiful Schiller effect. Furthermore, the inclusions are responsible for numerous deformations that manifest themselves as iridescent reflections, giving the gemstones a wonderful appearance.
